Silk Trends finalist for Hair Salon of the Year London in English Hair and Beauty Awards

 

Spirits are high at East London Hair Salon Silk Trends, after being selected as one of top 5 finalists for the Hair Salon of the Year London category in the 2013 English Hair and Beauty Awards.  This is the second year in a row Silk Trends has be selected as a finalist in this prestigious awards, with Ingrid (Silk Trends Salon Director) being selected as a finalist last year in the Women’s Stylist of the Year 2012 category.

 

Hair Salon of the Year London is a highly sort after title, and Silk Trends are up against some heavyweights in the hairdressing industry, namely Headmasters of Mayfair (who were last year’s winners of this award).

 

Silk Trends was selected with the help of public votes, and received hundreds of votes from their loyal clients to help steer them through to the final stages of the competition.  The final stage consisted of submitting a presentation of supporting evidence which will be reviewed by a panel of high profile judges.

 

Ingrid said, ‘Last year we were in the top 13 which was great, but this year I cannot believe that we’re in the top 5! It’s a great honour in itself to be selected, but to be selected 2 years in a row, and in the top 5 is a huge huge achievement.  The competition first stage is by public vote, and it’s a wonderful feeling knowing that our clients voted for us, and think so highly of us and are so loyal.’  This nomination is proof that all our hard work is paying off and that Silk Trends isn’t just another conventional East London salon.

  

The English Hair and Beauty Awards is a prestigious annual event that pays homage to the professionals that work in the hair and beauty industry. The ceremony gives thanks and recognition to those who work exceptionally hard and promote high standards in the industry.  With a public voting system, the English Hair and Beauty Awards is very much a celebration of homegrown talent.

 

The awards are sponsored by Fake Bake, and this year’s charity partner will be the Make a Wish Foundation, which aims to make children with life threatening illness’ dreams come true. The foundation’s patrons include Jude Law, Florence Welch and Amanda Holden.

 

Ingrid said, ‘Being nominated last year was an unbelievable experience and we had an amazing time attending the ceremony.  We have all our fingers and toes crossed for winning the big prize, and i think I will be speechless on hearing our name called out as winner of the Hair Salon of the Year London 2013′. 

 

The Silk Trends team will now have to wait patiently until 3rd March to find out if they have won, where they will be attending the glitzy event held at the Midland Hotel, Manchester and hoping to bring home the main prize to East London.
