Do you have natural afro hair?

Do you sometimes wear your hair in cornrows, natural twist, braids or a mixture?

Happy to be a hair model for eager and talented hairdressing students to practice their craft?

We are looking for a model with Natural Afro Hair who is willing to have a cornrow style done on their hair during our Monday evening Afro Hair Training class on Monday 23rd April 2012 from 6pm till 9.30pm.

You must have bare natural afro hair (i.e. no braids/extensions currently in ) and must arrive with your hair already washed and ready to cornrow.

All our hairdressing students are supervised while performing hair services.

Please call the salon on 0208 529 8000 by Saturday 21st April to express your interest in being a hair model for the evening.

We all know that change and transformation is a great thing and here at Silk Trends we strive to help all our clients feel like any look is possible. Last week the beautiful Saffron visited Silk Trends.  It was Saffron’s birthday and so to celebrate the event she decided to be daring and go for the chop.

Saffron decided to go for a short, fierce Graduated cut, as she liked the short Rihannaesque look and felt that it would be easier to maintain what with it being shorter. 

Our very own Creative Director Ingrid got to work to make sure Saffron got exactly what she wanted and here’s how she did it;

First Ingrid shampooed and conditioned Saffron’s hair with Mizani Moisturfusion Milk Bath and Conditioner. D’Tangle leave in conditioner also by Mizani was also applied to prevent the hair from tangling while cutting. While the hair was wet Ingrid began to section the hair and cut it into short layers, gradually working her way up towards the crown of the head. This was then dried using a round brush technique for extra va va voom.

Lastly Mizani Gloss Veil was applied as a heat protector and the hair was then flat ironed with ceramic straighteners. The result is a sexy, short and managable hair to die for.

Like many people Saffron was tired of relaxing her hair and what with her having mixed textured hair this style was easier to maintain.

We just wanted to wish all of our loyal clients good luck who are risking it all to complete in this London Marathon this week.

A especially mention to a super woman who is dedicating her marathon efforts to a very worthy cause.

Our super loyal client Adrienne will be completing the London Marathon for the 3rd and LAST time, and raising well needed money for the ENCEPHALITIS SOCIETY (http://www.encephalitis info). She is hoping to raise £1995 this year.
