Introduction to Natural Afro Hair Maintenance and Styling
This module will usually run on a Monday evening between 6.30pm and 9.30pm over 3 weeks. The next available course start date is Monday 12th February 2018.
The Introduction to Natural Afro Hair Maintenance and Styling module will introduce you to the foundation skills required for working with Natural Afro hair types, over 3 weeks (1 evening session per week).
Introduction to Natural Afro Hair Maintenance and Styling module covers:
* Client Consultation
* Health and Safety
* Product Knowledge
* Shampoo and Conditioning Afro Hair
* Perfecting a Blow Dry (Pick Comb and Round Brush Blow Drying)
* Hair Treatments
* Thermal Press Styling
* Gel Comb Twists
* Natural 2-Strand Twists
The module is delivered using a mixture of theory, demonstration and practice methods, with more emphasis on building practical skills. The beauty of the weekly sessions are that you will be given the knowledge and practice skills during the session, then encouraged to practice in between sessions, and then iron out any problems or gain further clarification with the trainer during the next session. You will see a big increase in your ability and confidence as the module progresses with each session.
On successful completion of your course you will receive a Silk Trends Academy Certificate of Acceptance.
The cost of the module is £395.00 per person, and there will be a maximum of 5 students per class to ensure students get a good amount of support. This module will usually run on a Monday evening between 6.30pm and 9.30pm over 3 weeks. The next available course start date is Monday 12th February 2018.

Please note: You will require a small hairdressing tools kit for the course (some items you may already have at home). All hair products will be provided during each session.
About The Tutor:
Ingrid Farrell (our Principal Trainer) is a qualified and experienced Lecturer of Hairdressing and NVQ Assessor over 7 years experience teaching hairdressing at level 1 and level 2, and over 30 years experience working in the Hairdressing industry.
