Welcome to Silk Trends Academy. There are a wide range of courses on offer, from basic hairdressing to advanced cutting and colouring. Courses are designed to cater for all levels, from beginners wanting to develop skills for a career in Hairdressing, to the more experienced stylists wanting to refresh their existing skills.

Package courses
Our 12 weeks package courses are ideal for those new to/studying hairdressing and want to gain experience of many different aspects of Afro Hairdressing in one go. Ideal for keeping your existing hairdressing skills up to date or gaining new skills.
- Simply Afro – 12 weeks evening course in Foundation Afro Caribbean Hairdressing
An foundation level course in Afro Hairdressing covering Natural Afro Hair Styling and Maintenance, Hair Braiding and extensions, Relaxing Afro Hair, and Basic Colouring and Cutting
Course Fee: £1295.00 per person

Individual Modules
Our evening individual hairdressing modules are ideal short courses for those wanting an introduction to specific aspects of hairdressing. Ideal for keeping your existing hairdressing skills up to date or gaining new skills.
- Foundation Hair Cutting skills – 6 weeks evening course – £595.00

- Introduction to Relaxing Afro Hair – 3 weeks evening course – £325.00

Refreser/Confidence Building Courses
These one-day workshops are ideal for already qualified hairdressers returning to the industry after a long break, or newly qualified hairdressers wanting to build confidence and gain experience in certain areas of hairdressing. Ideal for keeping your existing hairdressing skills up to date or gaining new skills. You must already have NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing Qualification or equivalent to attending these one day workshops.
- Relaxing Afro hair – 1 day workshop – £195.00 per person
- Perfect your bob – Hair Cutting – 1 day workshop – £195 per person
- Hair Colouring – 1 day workshop – £195.00 per person
- Hair Braiding – 1 day workshop – £150.00 per person
All one day group workshops run on a Sunday from 10.30am – 4.30pm and have a maximum of 5 students per course.

One to One/Bespoke Courses
Our bespoke courses offer hairdressing training on a one to one basis. Any of the course subjects listed above can be delivered on a one-to-one, or a course can be designed to your meet needs.
One subject can be covered during a minimum one session day (6 hrs).
One to One Course Fee:
£250 per person per day

Note:- You must bring your own basic hairdressing equipment kit for the course. All products and materials for use during the class will be supplied.
Our trainer is a qualified and experienced Lecturer of Hairdressing and NVQ Assessor, with over 5 years experience teaching hairdressing level 1 and level 2, as well as 25 years experience working in the hairdressing industry.

City & Guilds 7307 Stage 1 – 4 Teaching Qualification

All our courses have been designed to National Hairdressing Standards. On successful completion of your course you will receive a Silk Trends Academy Certificate.
